DEPRESSION - UNDERSTANDING IT, MANAGING IT

  COURSE OUTLINE

"I found it to be a very interesting course, and the tutor was very quick in feeding back to me."
Jill, Airdrie

Depression costs the struggling British economy a huge £8.6 billion a year due to lost working hours, inefficiency and long term unemployment.

Depression is not just a general feeling of being down. It is the most common mental health disorder in Britain, affecting 1 in 5 people.

With most people spending a third of their time at work, it’s vital for employers to have positive attitudes towards mental health.

This short course in depression management covers:

what depression is
the myths surrounding depression
different types of depression
ways to cope
treatment options available
the impact in the workplace
creating supportive working relationships
working with vulnerable people

The course is aimed at individuals as well as People Managers who need to understand and manage depression.

The course is brought to you by qualified tutors with extensive experience of mental health – both in the workplace and its effect on employability.
